Our History
Four Generations of Acadia National Park Expertise
Like the the rocks of Acadia, we’ve been here awhile as well! You might say Acadia National Park is in our blood. My great grandfather was the caretaker and chauffeur for George B. Dorr — Acadia’s first superintendent! Himself, along with my great uncle and grandmother, all worked for the National Park Service for a combined total of 84 years between 1925 and 1986. Putting their passion and family knowledge to good use, my grandfather, Sonny Cough, and his brother, Jimmy, started Acadia National Park Tours in 1955. Since its inception, the family owned and operated company has continued to set the standard for land tours in the Bar Harbor area.
It is now our mission to continue providing the most informative, accurate, enjoyable, and safe sightseeing experience available in our area, and we are grateful to all of our guests past, present, and future. Let us show you Acadia!
